IADC WellSharp
In this WellSharp course, students will be engaged throughout the 20 fully animated lessons and will gain a thorough understanding of topics like gas migration, identifying kicks, fracturing, and the drilling circulating system. The training is designed for operators, contractors, and service company personnel to further grasp drilling and well control fundamentals.
Lost Circulation
E-Learning
In this lesson, you will learn about Lost Circulation. The Drilling Window will be covered along with a brief overview of pressures that are and are not within your control, like Hydrostatic pressure, formation pressure, and fracture pressure. Drilling mud, casing, and cement are also discussed in relation to Lost Circulation.
Surging and Swabbing
E-Learning
In this short lesson, you will look at how pulling pipe out of the well too fast can induce a kick by negatively impacting bottomhole pressure, and how running pipe into the well too quickly can possibly fracture the formation creating a loss of fluid.

Cementing Operations
E-Learning
As part of the overall drilling operation, casing and cement slurry are critical components of well control. This lesson will introduce downhole and cement pumping operations, along with hydrostatic pressure, friction pressure, and bottom-hole pressure (BHP).
Well Control Methods
E-Learning
Learn the Well Control Methods that can be used to remove a kick from the well when shut-in. These methods include circulating and non-circulating: Driller's Method, Wait & Weight Method, Volumetric Method, and Lubricate & Bleed Method. This short course is included in the full Introduction to Drilling Operations course.

Introductory Drilling Operations
The WellSharp Introductory course curriculum covers basic skills for floorhands, roustabouts, unit assistants, and other non-technical personnel. The course focuses on crew awareness of well control equipment and procedures, kick warning signs. This course is available at our training center or your location.
2 days
In-House classes
In-house classes allow clients to improve crew competency by incorporating specific well and rigsite characteristics into the curriculum. Wild Well can develop customized simulations on problem or future wells with client-provided wellbore parameters. In-house courses meet all IADC requirements and can be held at your locations or a Wild Well training center.
In addition to offering IADC and IWCF certification courses, we also provide the following specialty courses and workshops that focus on specific area disciplines. Some Specialty Courses can be customized for client-specific operations. Contact Wild Well Training to schedule any of the following courses.
Advanced Subsea Well Control
In the Advanced Subsea Well Control course, team-based training is employed to enhance situational awareness, communication, leadership, and decision-making during complex situations. The course addresses Human Factors and works to eliminate their impact on costly well control incidents. The course encourages participation among the different levels of decision-makers from multiple companies which promotes the sharing of comparable ideas, perspectives, and experiences.
Crew Awareness Training
Crew Awareness Training allows the drilling crews to understand how and why blowouts occur. Instructors help crew members understand and recognize the telltale signs of a pending kick and make sure they are fully versed in proper shut-in procedures. Training can take place at your site or ours and can be tailored to your specific employee group.
Kick Drill Assessment
A Kick Drill Assessment is a personnel assessment of well control knowledge, readiness, and competency at the job site. It will provide a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the drilling crew’s ability to react to a kick and properly shut the well in. Each crew member has an individual assessment and all crews participate.
TRUE Training
Training to Reduce Unscheduled Events (TRUE) immerses participants in an instructional program that focuses on team building and the practical application of proven operational principles in a 12-module format. Using real-world scenarios, students direct rig teams in the development and follow-through of action plans.
